Where is mold usually found in a house?

Whether you are house hunting or odor hunting it is always good to check for mold. Here are some trouble areas in most homes.

• Doors Frames - Any opening into the home must have a seal. If that seal is broken (first picture) then there could be mold present.
• Window Frames - If condensation pools around your windows you might have mold. The condensation means you have excess moisture and mold grows where there is water.
• Basement Walls - Check under carpets along the outside walls. If the tack strip is black or the nails are rusty then there is a moisture.
